The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) recently participated in the American Medical Association webinar about telehealth licensure amid the post-COVID pandemic environment.
ACR state government relations staff learned the nuances of how individual states are adopting and adjusting their telehealth policies. AMA and physician experts discussed approaches including the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) and special telehealth registries and licensures.
This webinar provided the ACR team with a roadmap regarding new developments in telehealth policy and what to be on the lookout for when the majority of state legislatures reconvene in 2024. It is important for all state radiological societies to monitor and keep track of their respective telehealth policies, as these regulations can have a direct impact on the practice of medicine.
