The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) is preparing to release two American Medical Association (AMA)/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) surveys within the next week.

The surveys will cover code families:

• Cerebral Perfusion and CT Angiography Head and Neck.
• Prostate Biopsy Services.

The surveys will be circulated to a random pool of ACR members. If you receive a survey and are familiar with the procedure, we strongly encourage you to participate in this very important survey process. The surveys will require a collaborative effort between ACR and other specialties, such as the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American Urological Association and the American Society of Neuroradiology. If you receive a survey for the same family from another specialty societies, only complete one.

Data collected from these surveys will be aggregated and analyzed, and time and value recommendations will be presented to the RUC at the September 2024 meeting in Washington, DC. The approved values will be conveyed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for consideration and eventual implementation in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

If you have questions or for more information, contact Stephanie Le, ACR Director, Economics and Health Policy, or Anita Wilkie, ACR Senior Economic Policy Analyst.
