If Selected, Immediately Complete Physician Practice Information Survey

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) sent an email May 17, to members whose practices were selected to participate in the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician Practice Information Survey (PPIS). If you received this email, it is urgent that you promptly complete the survey. Results from the survey play a major role in establishing accurate practice cost data for radiology and other specialties; it will have a large impact on physician payment.

This survey was last performed more than 15 years ago, thus the data from it are significantly outdated. PPIS is an important effort by the AMA to collect realistic data for today. The collected data will be shared with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The deadline to respond to the PPI survey is quickly approaching. If you received the email from the ACR, it means your practice has not yet submitted the PPI survey; contact your practice manager or financial officer today to ensure they have the survey link.

It is possible that the AMA does not have the correct contact information for your practice’s financial expert. If they need the survey link, have them contact the AMA’s consultant, Mathematica, at PPISurvey@mathematica-mpr.com.

If you would like to check whether your practice should have received the survey, contact Stephanie Le, ACR Director, Economics and Health Policy.
