Radiology residents at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland Medical System learned firsthand about the importance of physician-led advocacy during a presentation by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Sept. 10th. Loralie Ma, MD, PhD, FACR, former Chair of ACR’s State Government Relations Committee, and Dillon Harp, ACR Senior State Government Relations Specialist, discussed how to get involved in advocacy at the state level. Residents also heard from Dr. Ma about her own advocacy journey and why she believes it is important for radiologists to be involved in advocacy.
ACR has many resources to help members at all stages of their career become involved in advocacy, including the Radvocacy website and a scope of practice micro-website.
Residency program directors and state radiological society chapter leaders are encouraged to contact Dillon Harp to schedule an advocacy webinar.
