The Bruce J. Hillman, MD Fellowship offers a focused experience in medical editing, journalism, and publishing for qualified radiologists. It supports physicians in pursuing medical journalism, providing insights into the JACR®, collaboration with the editor-in-chief, and a related project. The fellowship includes a 1-year editorial board appointment and an invitation to the editorial retreat.

What to Expect
- Gain hands-on experience with the JACR team for 2 days in Reston, VA.

Travel to New York City for 2-3 days to meet with Elsevier, with travel expenses covered by ACR® and Elsevier.
Eligibility Requirements
- Staff position at an academic or private practice.
- Membership in the ACR.
- Evidence of interest in medical journalism and specifically the JACR, including publishing articles and serving as a reviewer for medical journals or participating on an editorial board.
Application Details
Applications for the Hillman Fellowship are open Dec. 1, 2024 - Feb. 28, 2025. A selection committee chaired by the editor-in-chief will choose one fellow from among the applicants.
Applications must include:
- Current CV.
- A cover letter explaining how the fellowship relates to your career goals.
- A letter from your chair or group president expressing support and agreeing to release you for the time necessary to complete the fellowship.
