The James M. Moorefield, MD, Economics Fellowship, sponsored by the ACR® Economics and Health Policy Department, offers radiology residents direct exposure to the College's economic activities, focusing on reimbursement and health policy issues in radiology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology and medical physics. The application period for this fellowship is closed and applications are no longer being accepted.

What to Expect

Fellows can expect to spend one week in-person at ACR headquarters in Reston, Virginia with an optional second week to attend the ACR Annual Meeting, AMA CPT Editorial Meeting or AMA/Specialty Society RVS Update RUC meeting. Timing will be coordinated with the fellow and their program director to fit their training schedule.

  • Stipend: $750 upon completion of the fellowship.
  • Expenses: Travel and living expenses covered by the ACR.
  • Fellows may be assigned tasks and may assume duties contributing to the Economics and Health Policy department.
  • Fellows must complete an evaluation and write an article about their experience for submission to the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR®) or ACR Bulletin.

Application Details

The ACR Economic Fellowship Review Committee will review all applications and select a candidate. Applicants will be notified by email of the committee’s decision.

  • Applicants must be third- and fourth-year residents.
  • Second-year residents are eligible to apply if they become third-year residents before the selection process is complete.
