The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) is launching an American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) survey to include Magnetic Resonance Examination Safety Procedures and Percutaneous Radiofrequency Ablation of Thyroid.

Survey data will be aggregated, analyzed and presented at the January 2024 RUC meeting in California. Values approved by the RUC Panel will be relayed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for review and final valuation in the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

The surveys involve collaboration with the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Society of Neuroradiology, Endocrine Society, Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society, Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American Society of Neuroradiology. If an ACR member receives a survey from the College and one of these other societies for the same code family, please only complete one.

Active involvement from ACR members is essential to provide CMS with representative physician work and time recommendations. Your participation in this endeavor is appreciated.

If you have questions or for more information, contact Stephanie Le, ACR Director, Economics and Health Policy, or Anita Wilkie, ACR Senior Economic Policy Analyst.
