July 13, 2023
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its 2024 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) Proposed Rule July 13. The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) has prepared a radiology-specific preliminary summary of the proposed rule, which proposes to increase the conversion factor from CY2023 by 2.8 percent to $87.488 for CY2024.

CMS in its press release says this year’s proposed rule includes proposals that align with several key goals of the Biden administration, including promoting health equity, expanding access to behavioral health care and improving transparency in the health system. The agency also created a 2024 HOPPS fact sheet.

The College continues to review this proposed rule and will provide a detailed summary in the coming days. If you have questions, contact Kimberly Greck, ACR Senior Economic Policy Analyst.
