Thanks to a new sponsorship agreement with AIRS Medical, radiology residents, fellows, medical students and American College of Radiology® (ACR®) members will now receive free access to the 2025 Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) “Leadership Essentials 101: Skills for Residency and Beyond” program. Attendees can register for the program free-of-charge either through their residency programs or as individuals on the RLI website.

“The Leadership Essentials Program helps medical students and early career physicians gain non-clinical skills to help them and their practices navigate an ever evolving medical, technological, economic and regulatory landscape,” said Richard Duszak, MD, chair of the ACR Commission on Leadership and Practice Development. “We are pleased, with AIRS Medical’s support, to be able to make this valuable training freely available to the next generation of radiology leaders.”

Radiology education often does not include professional skills such as effective communication, personal finance, AI in practice, and early-career leadership—competencies valued by employers and essential for long-term success. The Leadership Essentials program bridges this gap.

“Medical students and early career physicians will need to acquire the skills to implement and leverage artificial intelligence and other technological advancements to optimize quality and efficiency,” said Jina Park, Chief Strategy Officer of AIRS Medical. “It is vital that medical societies, industry and decisionmakers work together to produce leaders equipped to manage ongoing changes and overcome future challenges to improve patient care.”

RLI Leadership Essentials participants gain professional development skills, including practical insights to stand out as effective, confident leaders, and excel in any radiology career path.

“We are very happy to work with other medical societies and manufacturers to expand access to this increasingly vital training to develop and support tomorrow’s radiology leaders,” said Dana Smetherman, MD, MPH, MBA, FACR, CEO of ACR.
