Gold Medal, Honorary Fellows, Distinguished Achievement Award, and Global Humanitarian Awards

The nomination period for the following awards and honors is now open.

  • The ACR Gold Medal is awarded by the BOC to an individual for extraordinary service to the ACR or to the discipline of radiology in teaching, basic research, clinical investigation or radiologic statesmanship.
  • ACR Honorary Fellows are elected by the BOC in recognition of outstanding contributions to the science or practice of radiology by individuals who — by virtue of residence, education, profession or lack of board certification — are ineligible for admission as members in any category other than international.
  • The Distinguished Achievement Award is awarded by the BOC in recognition of highly notable service to the College and the profession, or in recognition of other action or achievement that reflects in a uniquely favorable manner on the College and the profession at the national level.

Learn more about eligibility criteria and submit your nominations for the Gold Medal, Honorary Fellows, and Distinguished Achievement Award by July 1, 2025.

  • The ACR Foundation Global Humanitarian Award recognizes outstanding individuals, organizations and programs working to improve access to and equitable delivery of quality radiological services in low- and middle-income countries and in areas of need within more developed nations. Award recipients may be self-nominated or nominated by a peer no later than Aug. 31, 2025.

2024 Chapter Recognition Awards

Applications are now being accepted for the Chapter Recognition Awards. The Chapter Recognition Awards were created by the ACR in 2003 to acknowledge the College’s various chapters and their success, achievements and innovative ideas. Applications can be submitted for any achievements made in the calendar year of 2024 and can be made in four categories: Meetings and Education, Quality and Safety, Government Relations and Membership.

For more information about the awards and how to apply, visit the ACR website. Nominations are due Jan. 15.
