As part of its effort to advocate against Medicare physician payment cuts, the American Medical Association (AMA) is seeking 2022 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) scoring and payment adjustment information from participating clinicians.
Interested clinicians or groups are encouraged to email de-identified final score and payment adjustment information to Zach Smith, American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Senior Quality Programs Specialist, by Sept. 22. The information will be relayed to the AMA. Sharing this information through the College will help ACR’s efforts to communicate radiologists’ concerns to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Congress.
CMS released 2022 Merit-based Incentive MIPS scoring feedback Aug 10. This score determines whether a MIPS-eligible group or clinician receives a positive, neutral or negative payment adjustment during the 2024 payment year. If any errors are detected in the final score, it is recommended that participants submit a targeted review request to CMS as soon as possible. The deadline for a targeted review is Oct. 9.
