The ACR College Nominating Committee (CNC) recently announced the opening of this year’s Call for Nominations for ACR elections at the 2024 Annual Meeting, happening April 13-17, 2024. The CNC process seeks a talented, representative and diverse candidate pool. As part of trying to continually improve the ACR for members, the CSC, in collaboration with current and past CNC leadership and staff, has updated the CNC process for 2024, including expanding the information in the Election Manual.
Selecting and electing the volunteer leadership of our organization is a vitally important function that ultimately guides the future of our organization and specialties. The composition of our Board of Chancellors, Council Steering Committee, CNC and other key positions reflects the voice of our membership.
Based on your feedback, under the direction of Juan Batlle, MD, MBA (Councilor, Florida), the Council Steering Committee has worked with ACR staff to update this year’s nomination and election processes. This includes ensuring these processes are consistent with ACR Council policies and provide useful, thorough candidate information to members. Key improvements include expanding candidate information listed in the Election Manual regarding employment and practice type, as well as relevant conflict of interest disclosures.
In the ever-changing landscape of organized medicine, and radiology specifically, we understand this type of communication and information sharing is relevant to ensuring we have a fair, transparent and efficient election process.
