IROC's mission is to provide integrated radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging quality control programs in support of the National Cancer institute's National Clinical Trials Network thereby assuring high quality data for clinical trials designed to improve the clinical outcomes for cancer patients worldwide.

The RTOG Foundation is the successor to the NCI-funded Radiation Therapy Oncology Group. The Radiation Therapy Oncology Group was initially organized in 1968 as a national clinical cooperative group for the purpose of conducting radiation therapy research and cooperative clinical investigations.

NRG Oncology is a non-profit research organization formed to conduct oncologic clinical research and to broadly disseminate study results for informing clinical decision making and healthcare policy.
