CDC Issues Health Alert on CVST Related to J&J COVID-19 Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Health Alert April 13, “Cases of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) with Thrombocytopenia after Receipt of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine.” The alert shares information about the identification of six cases of CVST, a rare and severe thrombotic event. The American Society of Hematology also has released “Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia: Frequently Asked Questions.”
