RLI Scholarship Opportunities

Several chapters, institutions and practices provide scholarships and other funding to participate in RLI programming.

RLI Chapter Scholarship Program

Over the past 10 years, more than 15 chapters have established formal RLI scholarships to support their members' leadership and career development..

By establishing a scholarship to provide financial assistance for residents, fellows and/or members-at-large to attend a variety of RLI programs, chapters are providing a leadership track for their chapter’s members. In doing so, chapters are investing in both their chapter’s future as well as radiologists in their state by ensuring there are strong leaders who are trained on how to effectively advocate locally on behalf of radiology. Additionally, it will help prepare them to step into key decision-making positions that will have a lasting and positive impact on the future of radiology.

A chapter RLI Scholarship Fund will:

  • Teach business and leadership skills.
  • Prepare members for key leadership roles throughout their careers.
  • Highlight leadership as a priority to identify and attract prospective leaders.
  • Plan for seamless succession of key positions.
  • Provide a unique benefit to your members that sets your chapter apart from other professional societies.

If interested in applying for a chapter scholarship, please contact your chapter representative for more information.

What people are saying:

"My favorite parts of the conference were the refreshing, interactive table discussions with radiologists at all stages of their career from across the US. This conference is the perfect opportunity to brainstorm and learn from others’ experiences."
--Shelby Frantz, MD, 2023 Vanderbilt-ACR Radiology Leadership Institute Scholarship Recipient

"The Radiology Leadership Institute Summit was an eye-opening educational experience that I believe everyone should attend if given the opportunity. At the conference, we had lectures on a variety of topics including private equity, financial analysis, negotiation, and resilience.

My favorite parts of the weekend, other than the connections I made with fellow attendees, were the case studies. ... The case studies were lead by leaders in the ACR and allowed for a vibrant discussion amongst attendings, trainees, and business managers from across the country about how to handle these challenging situations. The variety of perspectives enhanced my understanding of the radiology landscape. It was a privilege to be able attend this conference, and I hope to be able to go again in the future. "
--Nicholas Voutsinas, MD, RPVI, 2023 Vanderbilt-ACR Radiology Leadership Institute Scholarship Recipient

Women in Neuroradiology Leadership Award

In 2012, the Foundation of the American Society of Neuroradiology (FASNR), American College of Radiology® (ACR®), and American Association for Women Radiologists (AAWR) established an award to provide leadership opportunities for women in neuroradiology. Since neuroradiologists must be leaders in the field, the primary focus of this award mechanism is to support mid-career women with some demonstrated experience and promise for leadership in radiology through administration, education, research and/or practice. The objectives are to provide the award recipient with additional skills and insights to enhance opportunities for advancement. Learn more and see list of past recipients
