Every year, the ACR appoints members to serve on commissions, committees and task forces. Appointees come from ACR membership categories. Nonmembers may be appointed only if they are ineligible for ACR membership. All appointees must be approved by the chair of the Board of Chancellors.
Volunteer service is generally for a one-year term, renewable for up to four years.
Committee members do their work by e-mail or a document-sharing website that allows group collaboration. One-hour conference calls generally take place once a month or less. Face-to-face meetings may occur at a venue such as RSNA or the ACR Annual Meeting.
