Acumen, LLC, a federal contractor working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), has announced the opening of a field testing period for five new episode-based cost measures in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program
This testing period will open on Jan. 17 and close on Feb. 14. During this time, physicians and groups who meet the minimum reporting criteria for any of the new episode-based cost measures will receive an informational report via the Quality Payment Program portal.
The five cost measures being tested are:
• Chronic Kidney Disease.
• End-Stage Renal Disease.
• Kidney Transplant Management.
• Prostate Cancer.
• Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Acumen will also be accepting public comments on the new cost measures after the field testing period opens.
