The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) signed on to a letter opposing Virginia House Bill (H.B.) 1245, which would repeal the sunset clause that allowed nurse practitioners with only two years of experience to practice autonomously.
The ACR took the action at the request of the Medical Society of Virginia. Despite the Virginia Radiological Society (VRS) advocacy against H.B. 1245 during its recent state advocacy day, the Virginia House of Delegates passed the bill.
H.B. 1245 now is scheduled to be heard before the Virginia Senate Committee on Education and Health.
