This week an American College of Radiology® (ACR®)- led coalition of more than 100 physician and non-physician provider organizations, representing more than 1 million clinicians, sent a letter to Congress emphasizing the need for substantive Medicare payment reform.
The letter reiterated that the medical community continues to face multifactorial challenges as it contends with record levels of burnout, workforce shortages and ongoing reductions to both Medicare payment and private payer reimbursement. Without Congressional intervention, these issues will only continue to grow.
The coalition asked lawmakers to convene hearings and work with all stakeholders to explore long-term payment solutions to ensure America’s seniors continue to receive access to the high-quality care they deserve.
