The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) is developing a set of quality measures intended to ensure radiologists make evidence-based follow-up recommendations and follow up with patients that have abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) 2.5 cm diameter or greater.
The College is meeting with AAA measure testers to assess the set’s feasibility in practice, ensure proper data capture and confirm the ability to measure intended outcomes or actions. More information is available on the Performance Measures page in the Evidenced-Based Recommendations for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm section of the ACR website. Facilities interested in testing the AAA measures are able to register their interest online.
ACR also seeks volunteers to test another set of measures related to tracking and closing the follow-up loop on recommendations for actionable incidental findings.
For question about the AAA and closing the loop measure sets, contact Sam Shugarman, ACR Director of Quality Programs.
