The North Carolina General Assembly is considering House Bill (HB) 149, legislation that includes a provision that would allow nurse practitioners (NP) to order, perform, supervise and interpret diagnostic studies. HB 149 is currently being heard in the Senate Health Care, Finance and Rules and Operations committees. The North Carolina general session ends June 29.
The North Carolina Radiological Society opposes HB 149 and is also working with the North Carolina Medical Association to combat the bill.
