Groups and individuals that are required to participate in the 2022 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) have until 8 pm ET, March 31, to submit their performance data to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) team advises submitting the data in advance of the March 31 deadline to ensure it is received with no errors.
Most radiology practices will be required to submit quality measures and improvement activities to CMS but are likely to be exempted from the promoting interoperability performance category. The performance threshold for 2022 is 75 points — the highest MIPS threshold thus far. Any groups or individuals that score below 75 points will be subject to a negative payment adjustment for the 2024 payment year.
Practices using the College’s QCDR to submit to MIPS can complete their submission using the CMS Submission tab in the MIPS Participation Portal dashboard.
For questions about MIPS or completing submission using ACR QCDR, contact Zach Smith, ACR Senior Quality Programs Specialist.
