NCI Recognizes National Breast Cancer Awareness Month With Special Events

The Biden Administration proclaimed October National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, asking all interested groups to increase awareness of what Americans can do to prevent and control breast cancer and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to this disease. The proclamation specifically highlights the White House’s commitment to ensuring women have access to screening and early detection services.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is hosting hybrid events this month that focus on the advancements in cancer research:

Driving Cancer Advances through Impactful Research — Oct. 15 and 16: The NCI Office of Data Sharing is hosting the Annual Data Sharing Symposium. The event will bring together experts and stakeholders with the shared goal to improve data sharing to enhance the abilities of the cancer research and care community to achieve better prevention, treatment and outcomes for all who are affected by cancer.
Ten Years of Empowering Cancer Researchers — Oct. 16 and 17: The Cancer Research Data Commons celebrates its tenth Anniversary at the 2024 Fall Symposium. The event is open to the public both in person or online.
