Watch For And Complete ACR Survey For January RUC Meeting

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) will conduct five randomized member surveys in the next few weeks in preparation for the American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC). These surveys will collect physician work information for new or revised radiology current procedural terminology (CPT®) codes.

The surveys will cover code families:

  • Coronary Atherosclerotic Plaque Assessment.
  • Hip and Pelvis Arthrodesis Revisions.
  • Irreversible Electroporation of Tumors.
  • Lower Extremity Revascularization.
  • Percutaneous-Decompression of Median Nerve.

As an ACR member, you may receive one or more of these surveys. If you perform the procedure(s) described in the survey, it is critical for you to participate in this confidential valuation process. The survey cycle for the January meeting is extremely short. Therefore, we ask that our members complete the survey as soon as possible.

If you receive a survey for the same codes from another specialty society, only complete one. Multispecialty data will be aggregated, analyzed and used to make time and value recommendations to the RUC. The values, once approved at the RUC, would then be shared with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Final values will be published in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
