Creighton University Medical Students Learn About the Importance of Advocacy

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) met recently with medical students at Creighton University in Phoenix about the importance of advocacy in healthcare. Dillon Harp, ACR Senior State Government Relations Specialist, spoke about various ways the students can get involved in healthcare advocacy while still in school. He stressed the importance of radiologists at all stages of their professions, medical students, residents, young and early career physicians, experienced physicians and retirees — to be active in the advocacy scene, wherever their academic and professional journeys take them. State and federal lawmakers want to hear how policies and legislation they consider would affect physicians at each of these stages in their careers.

Program directors and state radiological society chapter leaders are encouraged to contact Dillon Harp to bring a resident advocacy presentation to their residents.
