The 2023 state legislative cycle is quickly approaching, and the American College of Radiology Association® (ACRA®) is here to help. The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) state government relations staff expects another busy year battling harmful non-physician scope of practice (SOP) expansion bills. State radiological societies that anticipate an SOP battle and have not already applied for the ACRA SOP Fund should do so before Oct. 31.
The SOP grant program, launched in 2021, has already helped state radiological societies educate lawmakers and battle against harmful SOP legislation. In 2022, the Wisconsin State Radiological Society used its SOP grant funds to successfully defeat a harmful non-physician scope of practice expansion bill.
If you have questions about applying for an ACRA SOP grant, please contact Eugenia Brandt, ACR Senior Government Affairs Director, or Dillon Harp, ACR Senior State Government Relations Specialist.
