Alexander Norbash, MD, MS, FACR, and Frank Lexa, MD, MBA, FACR, Co-Chairs of the American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Strategic Planning Committee, contributed this post.
In an effort to guarantee radiology’s greatest success in future years and support improved health equity, quality and delivery outcomes, the ACR recently launched the new strategic plan, “Empowering the Radiologist of the Future.” The interconnected and interdependent objectives of the plan aim to increase member value, improve radiologic care and strengthen healthcare for all.
We strive to ensure transparency as we begin implementation. In that spirit, we encourage you to attend a Live Town Hall, on Thursday, May 19 at 8pm ET, in which your fellow practice leaders and ACR staff will discuss next steps, priorities, timelines and opportunities for ACR members to get involved and participate.
The ACR maintains a sharp focus where advocacy and economics are concerned while advancing the strategic objectives in the plan. Empowering radiologists in their day-to-day practice is the key to our future. By prioritizing communication, emerging technology, influence and fair valuation, we commit to adding value and always focusing on our members to help them succeed in challenging times.
Over the coming months, we will identify opportunities for members to contribute to driving success for the strategic objectives. Each objective has a champion and team working to define success and create action plans. In addition, plan to communicate and listen frequently via town halls, Chat with the Chair, ACR Bulletin, social media and on acr.org.
This is your strategic plan. All of us, as members, have a voice, a role and a charge to Empower the Radiologist of the Future to serve our patients and society. We are stronger together.
We hope you’ll attend this informative session for an opportunity to gain better insight into the future of the ACR, ask questions and participate in meaningful dialogue.
