Jacqueline A. Bello, MD, FACR, Chair of the American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Board of Chancellors (BOC), and Alan H. Matsumoto, MD, FACR, Vice Chair of the ACR BOC, contributed this post.
The Chat With the Chairs program began in early 2022 to afford ACR members a way to meet virtually with leadership to ask questions, delve into current issues and discuss future plans. As your BOC Chair and Vice Chair, we value your voice — and the voices of all ACR members. This unique opportunity to speak one-on-one is immensely important, as your thoughts, concerns and suggestions play a critical role in the way we formulate and implement our strategic plan.
Our early chats to-date highlight the importance of two of the first three initiatives supporting the new ACR Strategic Plan — Convener of Conversations and Organization of Opportunity. Members of the ACR are very knowledgeable and insightful and have a broad scope of experiences. One-on-one conversations provide us a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, become better informed about what members value about the ACR, learn about what issues are keeping them up at night, and hear alternative perspectives and important questions. For example, recent Chat With the Chairs discussions have inspired renewed focus in facilitating member engagement with our Neiman Health Policy Institute and how members can participate in our Health Equity and Population Health efforts.
These sessions are a chance for us to listen and learn so we can better serve and communicate with members like you.
We look forward to hearing from members again soon, and often. Please join us for the next Chat With the Chairs, happening Monday, July 25.
