2025 Radiology Leadership Institute Emerging Leaders Scholarship Now features Philips Executive Mentorship Program
Philips Becomes Corporate Sponsor for Annual Residents and Fellows Scholarship
Residents and fellows who receive the 2025 Philips Emerging Leaders RLI Scholarship will receive a full scholarship to attend the 2025 RLI Summit, an array of other Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) programs, and a one-year, new Philips led cohort-based executive mentorship. Interested individuals that meet scholarship requirements must apply by the Feb. 14 deadline.
“The Radiology Leadership Institute scholarship program is a fantastic way for early-career professionals to accelerate into radiology practice, department and society leadership,” said Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, chief medical officer of the American College of Radiology® Radiology Leadership Institute. “The RLI is pleased to work with allied medical organizations, manufacturers and others to offer more educational experiences to equip the next generation of leaders to drive our profession and our field into the future.”
Now sponsored by Philips, the annual Emerging Leaders RLI Scholarship is awarded to 10 residents or fellows that have demonstrated a strong interest in leadership and show promise to both become leaders in the field and to contribute to the future of radiology.
“Radiology is a key part of modern medicine and is changing fast thanks to digitalization and AI,” said Carla Goulart Peron, Chief Medical Officer of Royal Philips. “Philips has always been a leader in medical imaging innovation, helping to provide better care for more people, and we know healthcare is all about people. We are therefore excited to invest in emerging radiology leaders and help shape the future of healthcare.”
Recipients will attend the 2025 RLI Summit as well as participate in the 2025 RLI Leadership Essentials and 2025 Kickstart Your Career Workshop. The Philips executive mentorship program is designed to provide residents with professional development and leadership guidance and insights into the industry from a vendor perspective.
“RLI leadership training provides an ideal springboard for physicians to reach their leadership goals and for their practices to reap the rewards of their improved leadership abilities,” said Dana Smetherman, MD, MPH, MBA, FACR, CEO of ACR. “Medical societies and manufacturers recognize the value of this training not only to attendees, but to the overall field, and are increasingly supportive of efforts to create tomorrow’s radiology leaders today.”
RLI will recognize scholarship recipients at the 2025 RLI Summit, September 26-28, at the Boston Seaport Hotel.
