In Memoriam: Linda Natalie Meyers Fahr, MD, FACR, FAAWR
Linda Natalie Meyers Fahr, MD, FACR, FAAWR, passed away on Dec. 5, 2021. Dr. Fahr was the founding Vice President of the American Association for Women in Radiology and later served as President. She was the first female resident in radiology at the University of Iowa School of Medicine and oversaw radiology departments for 18 of her 38 years of practice in Texas, California and Illinois.
Dr. Fahr’s society activities were numerous, including serving the Houston Radiological Society as one of its first female presidents and the ACR as a representative from the Texas Radiological Society. Linda was a lifelong advocate for women in radiology whose influence was felt in every professional society she served.
Dr. Fahr’s father — a radiologist and University of Iowa graduate (class of 1930) — always told her that “a girl can do anything a boy can do” while growing up. This embodies the legacy she leaves behind — one of hard work, strength and perseverance.
