During the summer of 2022, the ACR® Commission on Quality and Safety’s Metrics Committee established a technical expert panel (TEP) to develop a quality measure to ensure that evidence-based follow-up recommendations are made for abdominal aortic aneurysms with a diameter of 2.5 cm or greater. The measure concept, reviewed and approved by ACR member-leaders, was submitted through the ACR Quality Measure Concept Vetting Form.
The measure will continue to undergo refinements by the TEP, depending on feedback collected during the upcoming 30-day public comment period along with early-measure adoption. The measure is planned for use in the CMS Merit-based Incentive Payment System, an arm of the Quality Payment Program.
