Join host Geoffrey Rubin, MD, MBA, FACR, and guest Lawrence R. Muroff, MD, FACR, immediate past CEO & President of Imaging Consultants, Inc., Adjunct Clinical Professor of Radiology at both the University of Florida and the University of South Florida Colleges of Medicine, and President Emeritus of Educational Symposia, Inc., as they trace Dr. Muroff’s remarkable leadership journey from 6th grade safety patrol to one of the most highly sought after professional practice consultants for radiologists, hospitals, and corporations today.
Having worked since he was 12, Dr. Muroff developed an appreciation for hard work which has led to 42 years of continuous major leadership roles within organizations including the American College of Radiology (receiving the specialty’s highest honor, the ACR Gold Medal, in 2013), the Clinical Magnetic Resonance Society, the American College of Nuclear Physicians, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and the Florida Radiological Society to name a few.
After majoring in sociology at Dartmouth College, he graduated from Harvard Medical School and went on to hold several leadership positions, including CEO for a radiology practice in Florida. Having said, “The future for radiology is bright. The future for radiologists is far less certain.” Dr. Muroff has worked tirelessly to educate and inform on important topics such as leadership, contracts, negotiations, interpersonal issues and group governance throughout his career which led to him being designated by Aunt Minnie as Radiology’s Most Effective Educator in 2010.
Fueled by a desire to serve and always willing to put in the work, you will be inspired by his journey and positive impact on the specialty.
